The Best Pumpkin Patches near London for families in 2026
Children pumpkin picking
There is something about a pumpkin patch that makes an ordinary October weekend feel like the start of autumn. Little ones can choose a pumpkin, you can get outside together, and, if you choose the right spot, there is enough to keep the whole family entertained well beyond the obligatory photo.
Whether you want an easy London outing, a proper pick your own field in Surrey or a full Halloween day out, here are the pumpkin patches near London worth knowing about for 2026. We have included the places that work especially well with children, plus the details that make a difference when you are planning the day.
Updated September 2026. Dates and activities can change; check the venue’s booking page before travelling. Entry and pumpkins are often charged separately.
1. The London Pumpkin Patch, Parsons Green
BEST FOR: A convenient London pumpkin patch and a gentle Halloween outing.
You do not need to leave the city for this one. The London Pumpkin Patch takes over part of Parsons Green in SW6 from 24 October to 1 November 2026, opening 10am–7pm daily. Alongside pumpkins, expect a family-friendly Trick-or-Treat Lane and a new play zone with games including pumpkin bowling. It is a particularly appealing choice if you are travelling by public transport or want an autumn outing without committing to a full day in the car.

2. Hobbledown Heath, Hounslow
For west London families who want more than a quick wander through the pumpkins, Hobbledown Heath runs its patch from 25 September to 1 November 2026. There are pumpkins, photo spots, food and entertainment, with the option to buy a combined Patch + Park ticket for a longer day at the adventure park. Patch tickets start at £7, with under-ones free; pumpkins and some attractions cost extra. The patch is a short woodland walk from the main car park, so allow time for little legs.
Best for: An accessible west London trip that can become a full play day.

3. Hobbledown, Epsom
Hobbledown Epsom’s pumpkin event runs from 26 September to 1 November 2026. Children can choose a pumpkin and then make the most of the indoor and outdoor play, animals and daily talks. During October half term there is also a character-led Trick or Treat Trail. This is a good choice when you want the pumpkin moment but also need several hours of entertainment for energetic children. Pumpkins and marshmallow toasting cost extra.
Best for: A full family day out with play and animals.

4. Priory Farm, South Nutfield
If your ideal day involves wheelbarrows, fresh air and pumpkins grown on the farm, head to Priory Farm near Redhill. Its Pumpkin Field is open daily, with a hay bale maze, seasonal play and plenty of photo opportunities. Field entry is £6 online plus a 50p booking fee, with tickets required from age one; pumpkins are priced separately by size. You can also book a tractor experience or combine your trip with the Halloween Trail at Discovery Land. Check which ticket you want before booking: the field and Discovery Land have separate car parks.
Best for: A proper Surrey pumpkin field with options to build a bigger day.

5. Godstone Farm
Godstone Farm is one for children who would happily spend as much time with the animals as they do choosing a pumpkin. Its Halloween event runs 17 October to 1 November 2026, with a pumpkin patch and carving available as optional extras. There is also a scarecrow maize, farm animals and indoor and outdoor play, which makes it a practical option if the weather turns. Check the extras when booking so you know exactly what your ticket includes.
Best for: Younger children who love animals and play.

6. Garsons Pumpkin Parade, Esher
Garson Farm’s Pumpkin Parade 2026 brings a circus theme to its Esher pick-your-own farm. Expect thousands of pumpkins to choose from, colourful decorations and interactive carnival-style games. This is a lovely option for families in south west London who want a genuine farm setting without travelling deep into the countryside. Book a Pumpkin Parade ticket through Garsons and check the available dates before setting off. The theme is in the decorations and games; there are no circus acts.
Best for: Pumpkin picking close to south-west London.

7. Tulleys Pumpkin Festival, West Sussex
If you want to go all in on autumn, Tulleys is the big one. Its daytime Pumpkin Festival near Crawley combines fields of pumpkins with elaborate displays, food and photo opportunities; Pumpkin Valley is new for 2026.
It is a larger, busier outing than a simple farm visit, so give yourselves time to explore and book a daytime festival ticket for a family visit. Tulleys also runs separate Pumpkin Nights and Shocktober Fest events, so check that you have selected the right experience.
Best for: A spectacular, full-scale pumpkin day out.

8. Hertfordshire Zoo’s Pumpkin Valley, Broxbourne
Pumpkin Valley returns to Hertfordshire Zoo from 23 October to 1 November 2026. The seasonal pumpkin displays are included with a zoo day ticket, so it is an easy way to add an autumn twist to a day spent seeing animals and the World of Dinosaurs. Think of this as a zoo trip with pumpkin atmosphere and photographs.
Best for: A zoo day with Halloween colour rather than a dedicated picking trip.

Our tips for pumpkin picking with children
Book ahead for weekends and half term. Popular sessions can fill up, and some venues use timed entry.
Check the true total. Entry, pumpkins, parking, rides, carving and food may be separate purchases.
Bring wellies and a spare change of clothes. Fields can get muddy even when the forecast looks promising.
Choose for your child’s age and energy. A city patch can be perfect for a toddler; older children may appreciate a farm trail, animals or an adventure park.
Take a sturdy bag. The pumpkin your child falls in love with may be heavier than it looks.
Our pick? For an easy local outing, Parsons Green. For classic field picking, Priory Farm. For a day that combines pumpkins with plenty of play, Hobbledown Epsom or Godstone Farm. And if autumn is your family’s favourite season, Tulleys is worth making a day of it.
